In this article, I'll share my experience visiting Nike By You to personalize a pair of sneakers and tips for making the most of your customization appointment.
What is Nike By You?
Nike By You is Nike's custom shoe design studio that offers made-to-order sneakers. Located in the upscale Apgujeong neighborhood of Seoul, the shop gives customers creative control over colors, materials, and custom embellishments. You can design nearly every aspect of the shoes from the sole to the swoosh.
Booking an Appointment
A recent trip to Seoul included a stop at Nike By You. Unfortunately, we found out you need to book an appointment in advance on their website. Walk-ins aren't accepted due to the personalized design process. Be sure to check availability and book at least a few days before your visit to customize shoes.
Our Customization Experience
Luckily, the shop had open shoe plates we could decorate instead of made-to-order shoes. I chose rose gold for the metallic accents to match my style. My husband went with classic gold. We both added our names since it's a unique way to make the kicks ours. The staff guides you every step on their iPads.
Other Customization Options
Beyond shoes, Nike By You also lets you design clothing like caps and t-shirts. However, these require appointments too. Be sure to check what products are available for custom walks-ins versus made-to-order pieces.
